Data Privacy & Cookie Policy
How BlockShoals Technologies collects, uses, and protects your personal data — in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
BlockShoals Technologies, Inc. (“BlockShoals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your right to data privacy and is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (the “DPA”), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC). Our Data Protection Officer and Data Processing System are registered with the NPC. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use cookies, and the rights available to you as a data subject.
1. Scope
This policy applies to personal data we collect through this website. It does not cover any separate products, platforms, or services that may be governed by their own terms and privacy notices, which will be provided to you at the appropriate time.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
If you contact us (for example, by emailing the addresses published on this site), we collect the information you choose to share — such as your name, email address, organization, and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting and security infrastructure may automatically record limited technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and timestamps — for the purposes of operating, securing, and improving the site.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small amount of browser storage to make the site function and to remember your preferences (see Section 3).
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies (and similar technologies such as browser local storage) are small data files placed on your device. We use them as follows:
- Strictly necessary / essential: required for the site to work and to remember your choices — for example, recording your response to this cookie notice and basic navigation state. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics / advertising: this website does not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will request your consent beforehand.
When you first visit, a banner lets you Agree or Decline. Your choice is stored in your browser so we do not ask again. You can also control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; disabling essential storage may affect how the site works.
4. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and communicate with you;
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve this website;
- To remember your preferences; and
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
5. Legal bases for processing
We process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases under the DPA: your consent; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site; the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request; and compliance with a legal obligation.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the site (for example, hosting and content-delivery providers), under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
- Regulators and authorities — including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) — where required; and
- Other parties where necessary to comply with law, enforce our rights, or protect the safety of users and the public.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable laws, regulations, and our record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely disposed of.
8. Data security
We implement reasonable and appropriate organizational, physical, and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information consistent with the DPA.
9. Your rights as a data subject
Subject to the conditions of the DPA, you have the right to: be informed; access your personal data; object to or withdraw consent for processing; have inaccurate data corrected (rectification); have your data erased or blocked; data portability; lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission; and be indemnified for damages. To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer below.
